The Moving Gallery presents ‘Found’, an exhibition by two contemporary artists working with sculpture and installation, each taking the idea of found, and often banal, objects that occur as part of the fabric of the everyday as a catalyst for their works. Each is concerned with visibility, permanence, the idea of the trace and memory. Both practices are investigative in nature and form, moving between object, process, event and performance whilst employing contrasting individual responses. These range from an ambivalence towards the domestic and subjectivity to ideas of displacement and non-site.

The artists question the fixed identities of objects and materials as they attempt to defy usual definitions and expectations, or, as the artist Tom Friedman has commented, ‘Testing what matter is by allowing it not to be’.
