PAST

Bob Lee: 14th and 15th May

Tomorrow “Tomorrow” is a short animated film about an old man, Ingram, who lives alone and isolated. His house has become cluttered with memories from his life.

Ingram routinely categorises old photographs from his past in the hope that he may come to understand what his life has meant, but all he finds are more questions.

After an unexpected visitor arrives in his garden, Ingram begins his journey to answer the last pressing question on his mind as he enters the unknown.

Tomorrow is a story of individuation and very much a coming of age tale but at an ambiguous stage of the protagonist’s life. The film deals with the individual and addresses how each of us cope with transience, death and loss. The also establishes a dialogue between orthodox belief structures and the unknown.

The film was filmed by Bob Lee in a very dark room at the GSN studios throughout 2009. It involved the construction of four very large sets and two puppets.

This animation was created as part of the 4mations scheme for Channel 4 and co funded by the UK Film Council, NFM and One North East. The film was produced by Lynchpin Productions
